La Mercerie, a renowned restaurant affiliated with STARR Restaurants, is seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. Led by Chef Marie-Aude Rose, a culinary expert with a background in French cuisine, our restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience with seasonal menus and classic dishes. Located in the heart of SOHO, our restaurant is a hub for culinary innovation and creativity.We are looking for a talented Sous Chef who is dedicated to continuous learning and growth. This position offers a comprehensive package including a base salary range, quarterly bonus program, referral bonus programs, paid vacation and sick time, medical, dental, and vision benefits coverage, and dining discounts at affiliated STARR Restaurants.Key qualifications for this position include:

  • Experience with and passion for French cuisine
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive kitchen management experience
  • Ability to manage all stations from prep to service
  • Experience hiring, training and mentoring a diverse hourly staff
  • Excellent meat/fish butchery skills and knowledge of making stocks & sauces
