Bakery Department Supervisor

Job Description:

Assists with scheduling and supervision of team members and day-to-day department flow. Oversees and maintains bakery coffee and juice displays. Supports Bakery Team Leader and Associate Team Leader to ensure smooth operation. Provides courteous and friendly service to customers and team members. Performs duties in accordance with team and store Standard Operating Procedures. Supports WFM core values and goals and promotes national and store programs and initiatives. Ensures adherence to health and safety regulations including Food Safety and regulatory duties.
Key Responsibilities


  • Supervises and delegates tasks to Bakery Team Members.
  • Trains Team Members in a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.
  • Assists in training of new Team Members.
  • Keeps cases and shelves clean and well-stocked.
  • Ensures all necessary breaks are given.
  • Communicates team concerns to Team Leader.
  • Sets and achieves retail execution standards.
  • Fosters a positive team environment.
  • Responds to customer needs and questions.
  • Selects trains and develops Team Members.
  • Provides timely performance evaluations.
  • Communicates WFM vision and goals.

      Requirements

      • 12+ months retail experience.

        Working Conditions

        • Lifting 50 pounds.
        • Standing/walking 6-8 hours.
        • Hand use: single grasping fine manipulation pushing and pulling.
        • Work requires bending twisting squatting and reaching.
        • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
        • Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
        • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
        • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
        • Use of tools and equipment: knives box cutters electric pallet jacks and heavy machinery.
        • May require use of ladders.
