Are you passionate about creating delicious grilled, broiled, and
roasted dishes? Chez Messy, a renowned dining establishment, is
seeking skilled Cooks to join our kitchen team. As a Cook, you will
be responsible for preparing and portioning food products, as well
as plating and garnishing dishes to ensure an exceptional dining
experience for our guests.
Position: Cook
Reports to: General Manager/Restaurant Manager/Chef
Responsibilities:
--- Present yourself in the proper uniform, equipped with all the
necessary tools for success, including a calibrated
thermometer.
--- Possess the skills and knowledge to perform all duties and
responsibilities of a S--ut-- Cook.
--- Only produce menu items when a computer-generated ticket is
provided, unless directed by management to address a guest issue or
for tasting purposes.
--- Comply with portion sizes, quality standards, and all
restaurant and kitchen rules, procedures, and policies.
--- Identify and select cuts of meats, poultry, and fish needed for
proper preparation.
--- Prepare garnishes as required for plating and serving.
--- Become an expert on all menu specifications.
--- Adhere to handwashing policies and procedures at all times.
--- Use sanitary gloves when handling food products.
--- Follow company specifications for receiving and storage
policies and procedures.
--- Maintain quality standards for all menu items, ensuring that
sub-standard products are never served.
--- Keep all food products fully stocked and available.
--- Prepare all menu items according to the recipes provided.
--- Use the specified plate/container/wrap when serving menu
items.
--- Follow presentation standards when serving menu items.
--- Utilize properly sanitized utensils and small wares.
--- Set up and break down the station following company
procedures.
--- Ensure all food products are properly labeled and stored with
the date facing out.
--- Heat and cool products appropriately.
--- Remain flexible in preparing menu items, following written and
oral directions regarding recipe modifications and timing.
--- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen at all
times.
Job Standards:
--- Possess basic English reading and communication skills.
--- Ability to perform duties continuously for periods of up to
five (5) hours without a break.
--- Ability to lift and move products and equipment as needed.
--- Comply with all specifications, procedures, and policies of
Chez Messy.
--- Consistently treat guests, team members, and management in a
courteous and professional manner.
Education and Experience:
--- Food service experience is preferred, and a willingness to
learn and work hard is required.
--- Additional Job Functions:
--- Perform other duties assigned by Restaurant Management,
contributing to the overall success of the kitchen operation.
