Every employee takes a person-centered approach that exemplifies the ICARE values (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence) through empathic communication and partnerships between all persons.Work Shifts8:00 AM - 4:00 PMJob DescriptionPURPOSE OF POSITION:The Patient Experience Project Manager is responsible for leading initiatives to enhance the overall patient experience, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and managing a team of Client Navigators.AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIESThis position will manage, and direct programs related to the philosophy of Person-Centered Care [PCC]* across the system. The incumbent will be involved with assessment, data analysis, and strategic planning to improve the employee and patient experiences. They will report to and work closely with the Chief Experience officer and the Patient Care Experience team at their respective facility/service line, peer incumbents at other locations in the health system, as well as the Central Office Care Experience and Workforce Wellness departments. This role will partner with all key stakeholders from executive leadership to front-line staff, patients/residents/community members to spearhead improvement effort initiatives within the organization.Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists the Capital Construction Program, the Life Safety Program, and the Life Safety Management Program to ensure the following services.
    - Ensuring the cost-effective delivery of services.
    - Assuring the performance standards of Woodhull Hospital and off-site goals are met.
    - Developing indicators, PI Projects, and preparing monthly division reports.
    - Participating in monitoring, surveillance, and documents for both the Capital Construction & Life Safety Programs.
  • Participates in the Woodhull Hospital Capital Plan:
    - Prepare funding request.
    - Collaborate with administrators, clinicians, technical staff, and managers in the planning, designing and executing capital projects.
    - Coordinate the preparation of DASNY Work Orders and prepare presentations for the Capital Committee.
    - Prepare Project Status Reports and presentations for the Capital Committee.
    - Manage architect, engineers, DASNY, and other consultants in the execution of capital projects.
  • Act as liaison on capital and facility management issues; including execution of contracts, and Capital Committee presentation.
    - Prepare expense and capital work orders.
    - Process and ensure correction of ECB, Buildings Department, and Fire Department violations.
    - Prepare Space Use Requests for non-HHC space, and secure leases and operating licenses.
    - Process construction contract claims, changes, payment requisitions, and close-out contract.
  • Provide assistance and undertake special projects, as required, including:
    - The Joint Commission Preparation/Article 28/CMS Readiness Reviews.
    - EOC surveillance and patient safety rounds.
    - SOC and Life Safety Code reviews.
  • Provide assistance, guidance and direction in accordance with departmental goals and objectives.
  • Review, negotiate and supervises equipment service and facility construction/renovation contracts.
  • Develop operating plans, proposals and procedures to implement programmatic goals and objectives.
  • Plans and coordinates staff, department, office, patient area; consolidation and relocation, and prepares the environment for the same.
  • Effectively control cost through economical utilization of materials and equipment.
  • Adhere to the guidelines as outlined by the appropriate regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor and approve expenditures of efforts to ensure cost effectiveness of operations and optimum performance of personnel.
  • Ensure corporate emails are checked daily; respond promptly and courteously to messages.
  • Immediately report hazardous conditions that can endanger the well-being of patients, visitors and hospital staff to the appropriate personnel.
  • During an emergency, the probability that staff responsibilities will change is high. As new risks develop and conditions change, staff members need to adapt their roles to meet new demands on their ability to care for the patients we serve.
  • Conform to established time and leave regulations and policies; provide proper notification for absences and tardiness.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
    Minimum Qualifications1. A baccalaureate degree in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration or public administration from an accredited college or university; and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in project management work, such as planning, administrating, managing, coordinating or expediting for engineering and/or architectural and/or landscape architectural projects; or
    2. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of experience as described in 1 above; or
    3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus any combination of the experience and/or college education as described in 1 above to make up the equivalent of five years of education and experience. One year of credit will be given for each 30 semester credits of college education leading to a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration or in public administration.

    Special Note: Experience which is primarily of a design nature is not acceptable towards meeting the minimum requirements.Department Preferences
    • A Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Engineering or Projects Management:
    • A minimum of three years professional experience in Construction/Project management, and one year equivalent experience in a healthcare environment.
    • Senior level management experience in maintenance and engineering field for healthcare facilities.
    • Ability to meet deadlines and handle stressful situations
    • Ability to plan and estimate building & maintenance costs.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees on a wide variety of issues.
    • Full knowledge of pertinent regulatory agencies and the policies, codes, standards, and regulations that apply to the Corporation.
    • High level experience in conceptual and negotiated estimating.
    • Skills in personnel management, including professional staff, support staff, and construction trades personnel, especially conflict resolution.
    • Skills and abilities to utilize computer software for the completion of facility projects including but not limited to Microsoft Office, and other windows based programs.
    • Comprehending complex construction drawings and legal documents and capable of reviewing documents to ensure conformity to NYCHHC and building code standards.
    • Experience in Real Estate acquisition.
    • Working knowledge of construction safety standards and safety practices.
    • Understanding construction limitations and requirements within a healthcare facility to include infection control, interim life safety measures, NFPA 101, and applicable hospital construction concerns. Article 28 and Title 18 requirements.
    • Previous experience in Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organization standards and application standards of other healthcare service delivery organizations, as they apply to facility design and construction is desired
