Overview Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding
an Director- Adult Inpatient Unit in the Department of Psychiatry
at Metropolitan Hospital Center. The hospital is part of the NYC
Health + Hospitals System (NYCHHC). NYC Health +
Hospitals/Metropolitan Hospital's Department of Psychiatry is at
the forefront of providing compassionate and comprehensive mental
health services in a dynamic and diverse urban setting. We serve a
vibrant community in New York City, offering a wide range of
psychiatric services to individuals and families from all
backgrounds across our 4 adult inpatient psychiatric units, 1
Adolescent inpatient psychiatric unit, our psychiatric emergency
department, our substance use disorder services and robust adult
and child ambulatory programs that deliver in-person and telehealth
services. Our multidisciplinary team is dedicated to innovation and
excellence, providing a supportive environment for both patients
and staff.The hospital has a psychiatry residency program and
maintains a strong academic affiliation with New York Medical
College to continue its high standards of healthcare delivery, and
to provide its staff with teaching and research opportunities. The

staff. Opportunity Details
- Overall responsibility for clinical care and educational
activities on a acute adult inpatient unit, including leadership of
a multidisciplinary treatment team
- Represent the Department in all activities related to clinical
care and documentation of care, performance improvement, regulatory
compliance, resident and medical student education, and continuing
surveillance of the professional performance of the clinical
staff
- Report to the Director of Hospital Services and the Site
Director for Psychiatry
- Conduct staff meetings, team meetings, and clinical
conferences; collect pertinent data and complete investigations and
reports; and integrate and coordinate the unit's activities with
hospital and department programs (patient care, teaching, research,
and community health programs)
- Participate in our innovative integrative care activities.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in Psychiatry, including at least 1-2
years in a supervisory or admin/leadership capacity
- Eligible for licensure in state of NY
- Board Certified/Eligible in Psychiatry
- Superior leadership, clinical and diagnostic, administrative,
interpersonal/communication and team-building skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus Exceptional Benefits
